So i've been messing around online and am working on throwing packed
extensions into my site so that you can test out the google apps
feature.

Currently
Google Calendar
Google Mail
Google Maps
EVE-Online Wiki

Working on Google Docs

i've got them here http://www.error501.net/chrome/

I've run into a snag with google docs

The main url is docs.google.com
spreadsheets are at spreadsheets.google.com etc

How do you add multiple url's for 1 application without it spawning
out to a new tab?

Great question. We ran into this same problem when building our own
samples. We're going to change the format so that there can be
multiple domains.

Awesome and thanks for the response. I love the idea of this. And i
can see it's corporate use's quite easily taking off in my mind.
Instead of trying to remember bookmarks and such your domain admin
installs a lits of (intranet) web apps into chrome and off you go.
Making it alot easier to find things.

What's interesting .. is my EVE-Online Wiki demo
it has a link that opens up to www.eveonline.com and the site is on
wiki.eveonline.com but it doesn't open a tab it opens inside the
application tab?
Any idea's why this works (when it shouldn't) and the other doesn't
when it should.

Also thanks for the quick response.

It is because the launch URL points to wiki.eveonline.com. We always
open an app tab for the launch URL, even if it isn't with in the web
content. I think in the future we will probably validate that the
launch URL is within he web content to prevent this.

I might not understand how these are to work, but what I'm seeing is I
download the example CRX files, they install in my extensions, yet
nothing happens.

Are these just empty CRX files or should they affect the UI and allow
access to the applications?

You need to use the windows dev channel, and add a custom flag. For
information on how to do this, see:

http://code.google.com/chrome/apps/docs/developers_guide.html#installing

Note that this is very early code. Nice for developers to peek at, but
not ready for users yet.

Thanks, Aaron.

I have the flag enabled, but I'm on the Mac this morning.  When I switch over to PC in the afternoon I'll give this another try.

Any idea when we might see some better documentation of manifest.json?

I add Google Pac-Man, from what was hosted on http://macek.github.com/google_pacman/
http://bit.ly/ChromeApp-GooglePacMan just for the kicks of making all
my favorite actual apps like that.
Just have to tweak each of those according to their needs (location,
storage etc.)

For sure! Check for http://sites.google.com/site/wannadevaswebdev/chrome-apps
where I'll keep those I do so you can check them once in a while
instead of calling them individually. Added FriendFeed, Google Buzz
(Mobile Interface) and Pearltrees.
