Is it just me or anyone else having the same problem? I liked the idea
of Chrome webstore and all... Wanted to try the simple manifest.json on
the Loading installable web app doc...

Despite running chrome dev channel on windows with the --enable-apps
option, it says Apps not enabled?

Any tips?

Try closing all Chrome windows, it wasn't working for me at first
until I closed all Chrome windows. Kill all chrome.exe if you have to,
and then open it again.

--enable-extension-apps worked for me but --enable--apps didn't,
somebody should fix the the sample app guide.

I think the one that doesnt work is the "new one". They should
probably just include both -- calls in the docs to make sure it works.

I continue to get the "Apps are not enabled" dialog when adding new
apps. I have tried both --enable-apps and also tried the --enable-
extension-apps arguments. I also verified that there are no other
chrome processes running before starting in this mode.

I am using the 6.0.408.1 dev build and the exact error I get is "Could
not load extension from C:\maps_app. Apps are not enabled'

Any other tips would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I read that it is still not implemented on Linux or Mac, or both of them. But I could be wrong.
Are you on Windows?

--enable-apps works for me in 6.0.421.0 (48564) in Ubuntu

So maybe not on all of the flavors of Linux.

I was trying in XP (parallels VM on a Mac). In a Windows-7 VM, I am
able to get this working, with just the --enable-apps flag. Thanks for
the inputs.

Should work on the XP version as well. Weird.
