Hi guys,

The app has great ratings, well over 100K users and has been one of
the top apps in it's category. Yet, now, it only shows up in "Popular"
and other sorting modes. Naturally, traffic plummeted. "Recommended"
view doesn't even list it, which seems very strange given the above
stats.

What options do I have to get into the "Recommended" list? Could this
be a store bug?

Appreciate any insight on this.

You will not see apps in Recommended view if you already have it installed.  It will not have been removed from other peoples views.

Thanks Paul,

I have no direct proof, just speculation and a couple of ad-hoc tests
in Private browsing mode. However, the traffic pattern is strange and
makes me think the "Recommended" section (most obvious recent change)
is somehow a culprit. As measured with GA, traffic dropped by about
25% somewhere in the first days of April. From then, about every two
weeks or so, it takes another 10-15% hit in the number of visitors
(almost a step function). All of that happened while app stayed the
same. Couple of days ago I've updated the app, but it didn't change
the stats.

Thoughts?

P.S. A small note on UX - it's not clear to me why sorting methods
other than "Recommended" still show the app and mark it with a check-
mark. This creates two different experiences when people don't expect
them. Confuses devs and application seekers.

Hi Slava,

just found this conversation by "recommended" term.
How did you come out of the situation with recommended apps in May?

I've checked your app and it appears in my browser in the top of
the recommended apps (Russian language) the "Alarms and Clocks" category.

Thanks,
Igor.
