Latest update in Chrome 17

It seems Chrome no longer supports Content scripts when the manifest
uses the App identifier.
Now i would like to change that to browser action, but the Chrome
Webstore won't let me upload the extension since i'm changing the
"type", which isnt allowed.
Someone please suggest what i'm supposed to do, because i do not want
to lose my current userbase.

Packaged applications support content scripts, hosted applications do not support content scripts.

If you see that packaged applications do not support content scripts, then this seems to be a big regression.

Please, check again and if that is the case, search crbug.com for an existing issue and star it. If you cannot find one, file a new issue at new.crbug.com.

Please, do not add a "+1" or "Me too" or "Confirmed" (or similar) comment. It just wastes the time of Chrome engineers and sends unnecessary e-mails to all of the people who starred the issue.
