As the title says above, I have found that some of the provided
keyboard shortcuts for tabbed browsing are contingent on the use of a
mouse or mousewheel. Most notable is the command for opening a link in
a new tab (ctrl+MouseClick) and the same for in a new window (shift
+MouseClick). I am quite surprised that I have found no keyboard-only
alternative, especially since Chrome developers seem particularly open
to creating a usable browser for everyone, including those using
assistive tech.
In other browsers (such as Internet Explorer), the corresponding
commands are simply ctrl+enter to open a link in a new tab and shift
+enter for a new window.
Can this be changed? Also, has this question been asked before? I'm
honestly floored by the fact this apparently hasn't been dealt with in
the past. It's not a complicated solution, and actually seems more
practical if the focus is on providing keyboard alternatives to most
(if not all) mouse-based operations.

Hi Christopher,

Have you tried to use ctrl+enter and shift+enter inside of Chrome when
focus is over a link? Let us know if that doesn't work for you.

I filed a bug to better document these shortcuts at:
