Hey team-
New owner of a well loved Family Tandem (Eric D by way of Ryan Nute) and loving it. It currently has Maxxis ringworms on it and first outing out we got a flat.

I ride in Oakland and deal with all the glory of Oakland streets with my bikes.

Ironically on my regular bikes I ride with Rene Herse EL and have zero flats, any time I stray I get so many.

Curious what folks would advise.

When I had this bike, it has Schwalbe Marathon somethings on it. They actually seemed to roll decently, but were only ~32mm wide. I wanted bigger, so I put on Maxxis Grifters (Drifters? can't tell from my pic) 1.85" tires, which fit fine and worked well. But for anti-flatness, maybe a bigger Schwalbe is the best choice.

I have Schwalbe Marathon 2.0" on mine and the fenders don't fit.  No issues so far.

I've run Panaracer 1.75 on both our Fridays, pulling trailers across France and Natchez Trace..camping gear loaded..no flats..roll really smooth.
